Planning & building for tomorrow’s care needs
If you have visited BC Children's Hospital or BC Women's Hospital & Health Centre recently you could not help but notice construction on our site. This work is all in an effort to help us serve the medical needs of children, youth, women and families across British Columbia for years to come.
Hospitals and health care centres are not just bricks and mortar. They are living, breathing communities made up of care teams, patients, families, visitors, services, suppliers and neighbours. Find out more.
As construction progresses, access to roads and parking also shifts. Coming to our site? Here’s what you need to know.
What are we doing?
Over the next four years, we will create a living, breathing community of hope and healing with the future Acute Care Centre (ACC), expand services and incorporate more relaxing green space and walkways on site.
By 2018 we will have a new Acute Care Centre (ACC) at the Oak Street site.
We will also have expanded services for women and children at BC Women’s Hospital and Health Care Centre.
In 2019, Sunny Hill Health Services will move to the Oak Street site.
