Child Daycare Centre
On November 22, 2012, BC Children's Hospital Foundation announced a $4-million gift from Djavad Mowafaghian, to build the Djavad Mowafaghian Daycare Centre. The announcement took place during the ground breaking ceremony for the daycare, the construction of the daycare will funded by this gift of the foundation's $200-million capital campaign, the Campaign for BC Children. Construction of the 7,373-square foot daycare centre, which will have spaces for 49 children, including 12 infants, 12 toddlers and 25 preschoolers, is yet another important step in the transformation of the hospital site. The centre would be available to campus staff on a priority basis, as well as to residents of the surrounding neighborhood.
